Santa Barbara Harvest Moon Dance Festival

October 11–13, 2019

~ One incredible venue ~

Join us in Santa Barbara at the newly air-conditioned Historic Carrillo Ballroom on our legendary sprung floor at one of the best contra weekends on the West Coast!!

~ Two incredible bands ~

ELIXIR & PETE’S POSSE

~ Three incredible callers ~

Nils Fredland & Lindsey Dono plus Emily Rush (Rush Fest)

Elixir brings great sound and the best dance music ever! Members are Anna Patton (clarinet and vocals), Ethan Hazzard-Watkins (fiddle), Jesse Readlynn (trumpet and flugel horn), Owen Morrison (guitar and foot percussion), and Brian Bender (trombone and melodica). Elixir blends driving fiddle and guitar with the rich texture and rhythmic excitement of a full horn section, deftly weaving brassy riffs and daring solos in and out of traditional Irish, French Canadian, and New England tunes.

Pete’s Posse is Vermont’s own trad-roots power trio, featuring Pete Sutherland, Tristen Henderson, and Oliver Scanlon. Twin fiddles in tight, wild harmony over high powered guitar and foot percussion with mandolin, claw-hammer banjo, jawharp, rockin’ keyboard, and soaring vocals add color to Posse’s sonic landscape. High energy contra at its best!

Nils Fredland is not only a master caller, he’s also superb on the trombone, adding another wonderful layer to Elixir’s talented band. He is an expert at creating a welcome environment, delivering immense joy on the dance floor with his engaging dances.

Ever since Lindsey Dono came on the scene, dance weekend organizers have been scrambling to book this fantastic caller. She has a friendly manner, calling clear and concise contras, and because she’s a dancer herself, she knows just what the dancers want.

Special guest Emily Rush with “Rush Fest”. Emily calls contra dances to DJ'd music, playing pop, rock 'n' roll, tango, oldies, jazz, and everything in between! Super Wild Fun!

Registration started Monday, May 6!

Cost: $170  Friday evening through Sunday evening!
Sliding scale for under 35 ($70- $100)!
