Contra Dance dates & locations Schedule above and in the Dance Calendar Every Sunday except five per year Dance times and prices at right Sprung Floor Dance Festival in May above supercedes one regular Sunday dance Sunday of Martin Luther King weekend in January: No dance, as many of us will be at Contra Carnivale in San Luis Obispo. Fourth Sunday in June: No dance Three more Sundays per year, no dance. Always check the quarter's schedule above or the calendar. Fifth Sundays are special Zesty Contras. An extra half hour of dancing (until 10:00) and a somewhat more challenging program. Christmas Night (December 25) dance almost every year, traditionally with caller Erik Hoffman and music by Bayou Seco & friends, starting at the usual 6:30 p.m. and often free. This year's dance will be on December 27. Carrillo Ballroom Carrillo Recreation Center 100 E. Carrillo St. Santa Barbara Map & Directions Times & prices (unless otherwise noted) Regular dance time: 6:30 - 9:30 p.m. Price: $8, 13-17 half-price, 12 and under free Zesty Contras, $9-10, Fifth Sundays, 6:30 - 10:00 p.m. Occasionally a dance will be priced higher; see chronological schedule above. Contra Dance Orientation at 6:00 p.m. Refreshments usually provided (donation requested). On occasion, a dance is cancelled, rescheduled, or relocated; always double check before traveling for a dance. Personnel, price and schedule are subject to change.
